Associate Member of the Ontario Equestrian Federation
The Calendar of Events includes all of the GHGO events as well as those held by members and other Gaited horse organizations which are open to GHGO members. Breed Reps are asked to contact the members of their equine breed to submit events which are either specific to their breed, or gaited horses in general.

If you are planning to hold a clinic, trail ride, special event or are aware of an event that is appropriate to GHGO, please contact your Breed Rep. or email it to prittgasser@rogers.com

CanAm Equine Show
Date:  Wed. March 16-Sun. March 20, 2005
Location:  Agri-Plex, Western Fair Grounds, London, Ont.
Times: 9-7 Thurs.-Sat., 9-5 Sun.

GHGO will again participate at the CanAm show. There will be a booth along with 3 stalls where volunteers have provided their horses for display and daily demonstrations at 10:00am. Member Havenwood Farms is also sponsoring daily seminars on Gait at 2:00pm and 3:30 pm. presented by Tom Wood. For more detailed information about the CanAm event, please click on their link above. GHGO Spring Ride

Come and join fellow members for the 2005 Spring Ride at Vivian Forest. This is an annual ride through the forest that is followed by a gathering around a delicious pot of stew or homemade chili.

Gaited Horse Clinic with Larry Whitesell

Ambleside Paso Finos is hosting a clinic with renowned gaited horse clinician, Larry Whitesell. Larry has been doing clinics all over North America this year and has recently come back from doing one at Equine Affaire in California. The first day concentrates on building confidence on the ground and in the saddle.

Riders: 2 days-$250.00, 3 days-$350.00
Auditors: 1 day -$ 35.00, 2 days-$ 60.00, 3 days-$75.00

GHGO Meeting & Pot Luck Dinner

Join us for a pot-luck dinner hosted by Don & Sharon Woodrow. This will be a horse-free social event where members are invited to discuss plans and ideas for the group. Everyone brings their favourite dish and enjoys the afternoon; swimming, enjoying the campfire. After attending these events – I can tell you the food is awesome; shrimp, BBQ’d steak, cheesecake…….!

With over 30 years experience riding, training and judging all gaited breeds, Lee Ziegler has been conducting successful seminars for riders of gaited horses since the later 1980’s. OTRA/GHGO Trail Ride at Havenwood Farms
Date:   Saturday Aug.13-Sun. Aug. 14, 2005
Location:   Havenwood Farms, Fenelon Falls, Ont.
Times: Ride leaves 10:00am each day

GHGO members are invited to join Havenwood Farms annual OTRA trail ride Saturday and Sunday, August 13th and 14th. The ride goes for four to five hours each day over fields, wooded trails, rail trails and little used secondary roads. This is camping weeked and riders must picket their horses overnight (stalls are not available). Water for horses and people available, along with a state-of-the-art outhouse. Rides go each day at 10 AM sharp, rain or shine. Campfires each night. No stallions please. Please contact Colleen and Tom Wood here for details and directions. RSVP required.

Gaits of Caledon, Horse Show

Riders from the Mountain Horses and Paso Finos successfully participated in two local shows last year, Gaits of Caledon being one of them. The shows were excited to create Gaited Horse classes at their events and welcomed the large number of entries. These shows have created classes again this year and look forward to our attendance. Classes can be available for any interested riders of any gaited breed provided there is enough interest.No show experience – no problem. Riders practice and prepare for the shows in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Classes are available in either English or Western disciplines. To have a wonderful time showing your equine friend, please contact Tracy Bush.

GHGO Potluck Mtg., Dinner/Cornroast & Country Hoedown

This will be another horse-free social event where members and their families are invited bring their favourite dishes and enjoy the afternoon and evening socializing while the children swim and play. After enjoying the fall feast of corn, the band will entertain everyone by the campfire.

American Saddlebred Classic, Horse Show

International Rocky Mountain Horse Show

Come and join fellow members for the 2005 Annual General Mtg. The meeting will commence at 2:00pm where members will review the year and discuss current ideas and future plans. New and existing Board membership will be voted and the meeting will adjourn for members to participate in the silent auction. After a delicious full course meal, a specially selected speaker will share their experience in their expertise with horses. We invite all membership to come and share their thoughts and ideas for the new year and enjoy the evening.
