GHGO Camping Weekend

Member Dolly Puccia will be hosting a camping weekend at Sandaraska Park in the Ganaraska Forest. Dolly and her family have a permanent camp site ( Site T) at the forest and have graciously offered to show us the ropes and guide us through the Ganaraska. You may come for 1 or 2 days or the whole weekend. After the Equine Camping Clinic hosted by OTRA, it would be a wonderful opportunity to camp and enjoy guided rides through the forest. Dolly and her daughters will be arriving on Friday evening and staying until Monday afternoon. There will be trail rides daily starting at 10 a.m. lasting 2-3 hours or even longer if you like!!! When you arrive just check in at the store and they will tell you where the weekend temporary campers set up. There are trees for line tying, water, showers and a pool. Fire pits are available and we can arrange a group evening fire. The trails are mostly sand with some stone. If you wish to ride on your own, bring a compass, it is a very large forest!!
Campsites will be available for the horses and riders and Dolly will be available to give everyone a hand and share her camping knowledge. Further information will be provided closer to the date. FUN DAY--BBQ & TRAIL RIDE

Items to bring: Lawn chairs, and if you are joining the trail ride bring your horse.
Come and join a fun day with other gaited horse people. Join in for the trail ride and BBQ or just come for the BBQ. There will be two guided trail rides through the wonderful Ganaraska Forest. One ride will be a 2-3 hour ride and a shorter ride for about 1-2 hour. Festivities start 2pm.

Larry Whtiesell is a gaited horse trainer, judge and clinician. These are in dept clinics that will increase your knowledge of the training of your gaited horse.

Sutton Fair Horseshow

This event is a well recognized yearly fair where many classes of horses are exhibited. Each year their committee offers classes to our organization for gaited horses and all gaited breeds are invited to attend. Interested riders from both the Mountain Horse and Paso Fino breed groups have already shown an interest in participating. This year there will be classes divided up into Open Gaited, Fun classes, Mountain Horse and Paso Fino. It is also a wonderful opportunity for GHGO to support all the riders as they promote the wonderful abilities of gaited horses by setting up our booth and offering organization and breed information to the public.
